Dust Control – 2023

The Bridgewater Township Board is making plans to have liquid calcium chloride applied to roads for dust control. If you are interested in having this product applied, you must submit payment and application to the Township Clerk by Saturday May 13, 2023. Make your check payable to Bridgewater Township. Mail to: Bridgewater Township PO Box 246 Dundas, MN 55019. Call the Clerk at 507-645-1656 with questions.

To ensure correct application, you are responsible for the following:

1. Fill out the application form completely and return it with a check for the full amount of coverage desired.
2. Colored stakes installed by Saturday May 13, 2023 to mark the beginning and ending of the application area.  If you need stakes, you may pick some up from a barrel in front of the Township Hall. Please measure accurately.  The truck will only dispense the amount of chloride that was ordered.
3. If the area to be treated is a county road, it will be the property owner’s responsibility to notify the Rice County Highway Department regarding the dust control project. Please request that the county perform maintenance blading prior to the installation of the dust control treatment. The Rice County Highway Dept. can be reached at 507-332-6110 or 645-9576 and ask for the Highway Dept.

Please note: Many factors (weather, type of road surface, traffic, etc.) affect the performance of a dust control treatment. Therefore, Bridgewater Township and the contractor do not guarantee how long this treatment will last or how effective it will be. Dust control will not be applied until the township has received, spread, and graded the new crushed rock on township roads. The application of dust control is planned for the first week of June, weather permitting

Minimum requirement of application is 300 feet.  There is not a maximum.

Standard application is approximately 18 feet wide by 400 feet long.
